The Last Post

This will be my last post. This story has come to an end. After I returned from the cemetery I was left with more questions than I had started with. However, none of them mattered once Audrey came over and told me that she loved me. I guess the cards really have helped my life more than I imagined. After Audrey came over someone dropped off a folder with all answers to who was behind the cards. She says she is going to stay with me for good. I'm not going to share the information because I think it is better left to go unsaid. It is an end to one part of my life and I am finally ready to start another.

The Joker

I got an envelope that had a message. It said: "Ed the end is near, go down to the cemetery." When I went down there, I was greeted by a man.He told me I was just like my father and then he left. I asked him if these messages were from my father first, he said no.

Hearts

I've haven't written in a while because I wanted to get the hearts done as fast as I could. The card had movie titles on it. Each movie had an actor, or producer, etc... that had a name that related to either Audrey, Ritchie, or Marv. I wanted to help them as fast as I could.
I started with Ritchie. Basically I realized I needed to help Rithie get back on his feet. He needed a fresh start.
Marv apparently has been saving thousands of dollars to help this girl he got pregnant three years ago. I drove him to her house. He confronted her father. They had moved away because of the disgrace he brought to their family. I felt bad for poor Marv.
Audrey was last. I made her realize she loved me even if it was for only three minutes. We danced under the moonlight.
I thought I was done...

The Bell Street Theater

I went to the last address on the card. It was an old theater. It was old and run down. I first thought I had to help the usher get people into the theater, but, I realized he was fine and decided to take Audrey to the theater the next time. While I was there I got the next card, the ace of hearts. The man who left the card also left a video of all my past messages... he was following me. Hearts scares me the most now because people can die from broken hearts.

23 Clown Steet

I went to Clown Street a few times, only to discover it was an Italian restaurant. I finally decided to go in one night. I saw my ma eating there with a date, it was disgusting, shocking, and made me feel uncomfortable. I finally decided to confront her about it. I went to her house and asked why. I found out the truth... she was dating other men when my father was alive. I can't believe she did that to him. He was a good man even though he drank. Finally, I had to ask "why do you hate me so much ma?" She told me I reminded her of dad. It hurt, but I knew she needed to tell me that.

Glory Road

Two I days ago I met the Tatupu family as part of my messages. The father saw me the last few times times i went there. He finally came out and talked to me. He thought I was a pervert or something. I told him that i grew up in the house he and his family lived in. One of the benefits of lying is that it saved me another beating. He invited me into his home and invited me have dinner with his family. They are a nice family.

I still wasn't sure what I needed to do for them, so I took them up on their invitation to see them put up the Christmas lights. When they were turned on only about half of them worked. I also noticed that no one on their street seemed to be friendly to them. I finally knew what i had to do, I bought them Christmas lights and left them on their front porch when they weren't home.

Digging

Yesterday I went to the library and checked out all the books they had that were written by all three of the authors. In one of the books was a napkin that read, "Dear Ed, Good Work - but don't worry, it's simpler than you think." This let me know i was at least on the right track. Once I got back to my place, I read all afternoon. I couldn't figure out how i was going to get through all the books. However, I remembered the message and just started to look at the titles of the books. I noticed that some of the titles were street names and once i flipped through the pages of those books one specific page in each one was marked. I found the addresses, after i did some digging. 23 Clown Street, 39 Bell Street, and 114 Glory Road.

The Dream

I had the strangest dream after I checked the names in the phone book. I dreamed that I was in school again, but no one else was there. The air was a pale yellow and the desk was covered with books. There were words on the board but i couldn't decipher them. Then the teacher walked in and told me it was, "Time to start". She asked me to read the words on the board, only i still wasn't able to make them out. I tried harder until I heard a snap from the teachers desk. I wasn't able to believe it, but the teacher was dead, hanging from a rope. I attempted to help, but when I went over to her she only said, "Recognize the words now, Ed?". And then I saw it on the blackboard the words "Barren Woman" were written.
I woke up shortly after that. I knew I had heard those words before. Finally, i figured it out. Barren Woman is a poem about a woman who committed suicide and was written by Sylvia Plath. All the names on the cards were authors. I decided I i had to go to the library and get all the books they had, that were written by these authors.

Ace of Spades

In the envelope I had to buy off the kid was the one card I had been fearing this whole time; the ace of spades. However, it wasn't what I expected. I expected to get hearts after I had completed clubs. On the card was three names: Graham Greene, Morris West and Sylvia Plath. I immediately checked the phone book but there was only one Greene and a couple of Wests, but none of them had the right first name. I decided to go to the addresses in the phone book anyway. There was still a possibility that other people with those names lived there.

SLedge Game/The Ace of Spades

Well today Marv brought me to breakfast. Yes, Marv took me out to eat. He wasn't a tight arse for once in his life! But, it was for a reason, he did it just to make sure I went to the sledge game. Marv had a kerfuffle with the waitress.
At the sledge game, my opposite number looked like Mimi from the Drew Carry Show. Big #12. During the game I asked some kid to watch the Doorman for me. When I got back, he was gone. I looked frantically and finally found him. He was receiving something from a women. I knew it was the next card. I tried to catch her, but she disappeared into the crowd. Finally, the stupid kid wanted to keep my dog and the envelope. He made me pay him twenty bucks for the dog and the message.

The Rose Boys and Angie Carusso

Next I located Gavin Rose. He had a brother and they fought a lot... but I wasn't sure what to do. So, I decided to find Angie Carusso. I realized, after watching for a while, that she always goes to the park with her kids and buys them ice creams, but she never got one for herself.I realized that nothing really belonged to her. I decided that the best thing I could do for her was to buy her an ice cream. She needed something for herself for once.
After, I went back to the Rose house. I realized, I needed to help the brothers stay together. I decided to beat up Gavin Rose so they would have a common enemy;me. A few days later they found me and beat the arse out of me. I guess it all worked out for them.

Father O'Reilly

A few days ago I checked in the phone book for O'Reilly's. I found two T. O'Reilly's. So, I went to the one on the good side of town first. Apparently, it was the wrong T... but the man I was looking for was his brother. He is a priest. I ended up realizing that I had to get the Father's congregation bigger as well as bringing the two brothers together. It was fun, Father O'Reilly isn't your normal priest. He was very sarcastic. So, to bring people there, we bought beer and put up adds all around town for free beer after service on Sunday. No one can turn down free beer. A lot of people went to the service, I even got Audrey, Marv, and Ritchie to go too. After the service I saw Tony and Thomas talking, it made me feel like I had done something really good for these people.

Clubs

Written on the ace was 'say a prayer at the stones of home.' I couldn't figure out what that meant for awhile. Finally, one night, a runner got into my cab and led me to the stones of home. I discovered that it was where my brother and I played when we were younger... he always beat me in races there. On the rocks were three names: Thomas O'Reilly, Angie Carusso, Gavin Rose.

The Ace of Clubs

Another card came in the mail today... I guess I'm not done giving messages. After what happened with last card... I'm not excited to get another one. I'm afraid of the ace of spades. Two men came and beat me up last time and they told me I was doing everything right. They had the nerve to barge into my house and threaten the Doorman. Their names' were Daryl and Keith. I was afraid to write about it earlier... Maybe they'll come and find me again if they see this.
Anyways... the card was delivered in an envelope. Also in the envelope was a letter to me.
"Dear Ed,
All appears to be going well if you are reading this. I certainly hope your head isn't too sore...
Later on it said "Very impressive indeed... in case you're wondering... Mr. Edgar Street boarded a train to some old mining town not long ago.... clubs are no snack, my son."

The Gun

I haven't posted anything in a while because I haven't had the time. A week or so ago, I figured out what to do about the man from Edgar street. A gun was in my mailbox when I got home. A gun! It was real. It felt cold in my hands.
Eventually, I did it. I picked him up with my cab and I drugged him. I brought him up to the Cathedral. I pointed the gun to his back and told him I was going to kill him. He begged for his life. I couldn't do it... I couldn't kill him. I beat him up and left him there. I haven't seen him since. I went back to Edgar Street and everything looks good. I feel guilty for leaving him, I feel guilty for not killing him.

Empty Shoebox

A few days ago she confronted me, the girl who runs. She said her name was Sophie. She asked why I was following her. I told her the truth, I'm not sure... She doesn't feel comfortable talking to me. I don't blame her. I think I know what I need to do for her. I'll show her that she needs to run barefoot, somehow, I'll let her know. She needs her father to cheer for her.

6 Macedoni Street

So far, this card has been interesting. The last address, I'm pretty sure, is this girl that jogs every morning from her house to the field. The thing is she runs barefoot. I try to run, keeping my distance behind her. She is beautiful when she runs. She runs track... but she never does so well... She looks awkward when she runs with shoes... she should run barefoot. There is another girl she always races against. She always loses to her.

Milla

Today I went to 13 Harrison Ave. I met and old lady named Milla. She called me Jimmy when I met her. She invited me in for tea. Later I found out that Jimmy was her lover and he died in 1942 during world war II. I think I gave her what she needed. She needed company, she needed to not be alone.

Edgar Street

Well, I didn't end up throwing the card away after all. That was not a smart choice. Today, I went to the first address and found something horrible. A drunk man came home only to abuse his wife. It was unbearable to watch.
I went back a second time and a little girl came outside and cried. After her mom came out and cried with her. I've decided not to go back. I don't understand what I have to do... or maybe I don't want too. I just can't do it.

The Ace of Diamonds

A really weird thing happened to me today... I found a card in my mailbox. It is the ace of diamonds and it has three addresses on it. The three addresses are 45 Edgar Street, 13 Harrison ave. and 6 Macedoni street. Also, next to each address, there are times. I don't recognize any of the addresses. It's probably just Audrey pulling something on me. Ritchie and Marv don't care enough to do anything like this. I'm just going to throw the card out...

Bank Robbery!

Today something really exciting happened, which is unusual because nothing exciting ever happens. Everyone is calling me a hero but I didn't really do anything. Mabye I should explain what happened. Today while me and my friends were at the bank
